ASEAN-Norway Partnership on Energy & Climate: Addressing Challenges Together for a Sustainable Energy Transition
This event will take place at The Langham Hotel in Jakarta at 10:00 CEST, but you can follow the live stream.
After two years of economic hardship caused by the COVID-19-pandemic, global energy demand in ASEAN is expected to rebound beyond pre-pandemic levels as economic activity recovers. Meanwhile, regional and international commitments to tackle climate issues have become more ambitious, precipitated by urgent needs to address climate change.
The pandemic and other shocks have further demonstrated the need for resilient energy sources, thus reducing fossil fuels dependency. The post-pandemic period in ASEAN presents opportunities for governments and stakeholders to align energy and climate policy and accelerate the energy transition in ASEAN more effectively.
Building on the strong partnership between ASEAN and Norway under the Norway-ASEAN Regional Integration Programme (NARIP), this seminar will discuss the state of energy transition in the Southeast Asia region and explore how ASEAN and Norway can elevate partnerships and efforts to achieve collective energy and climate priorities in the region and beyond.
