Summary
Mats Berdal is Professor of Security and Development in the Department of War Studies, King’s College London, where he is also Director of the Conflict, Security and Development Research Programme (CSDRG). From 2000 to 2003 he was Director of Studies at the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) in London. He served as an Adjunct Professor at the Norwegian Defence University College from 2006 to 2019. From 2009 to 2011, he was a Consulting Senior Fellow at the IISS, responsible for the institute’s Economics and Conflict Resolution Programme. He is a member of the Academia Europaea and an Associate of LSE Ideas.
He works part-time in the Research Group on Security and Defence at NUPI.
