Summary

Caroline Saastad is a master's student in the research group on peace, conflict and development. For her master's thesis, she examines the role of women in the peace negotiations in South Sudan and Colombia.

Her academic areas of interest deal with conflict and peace operations, democratization processes and women, peace and security (WPS).

Caroline also has a bachelor's degree from the University of Oslo in Political Science where she examined the role of women in South Sudan and the importance of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 for the peace processes.
