UNIQUE EXPERIENCE: In 2005, Ambassador Christopher R. Hill was named as the Head of the U.S. delegation to the six-party talks aimed at resolving the North Korean nuclear crisis. He gave a talk at NUPI on Friday 5 May.
During the first three months of his presidency, Donald Trump’s security policy has diverted from his campaign promises.
On Wednesday 3 May, NUPI organized the event American security policy under President Trump, with a panel of highly experienced experts from the Center for a New American Security (CNAS) in Washington DC: Michèle Flournoy, CEO of CNAS, Julianne Smith, Senior Fellow and Director, Strategy and Statecraft Program, and Dr. Jerry Hendrix, Senior Fellow and Director, Defense Strategies and Assessments Program.

Expert views on North Korea
We still don't know how Trump's new foreign policy will develop, but it will undoubtingly make a mark on the world. On Friday 5 May, we the pleasure of hosting one of the US' most renowned diplomats, Ambassador Christopher R. Hill. Hill shared his experiences from the inside of American politics during the event Life on the Frontlines of American Diplomacy. Hill has played a key role in some of the most critical conflicts internationally: The Balkans, Iraq and North Korea.

Is NATO delivering?
Collective defence and deterrence came back on the agenda at the 2014 Wales Summit following the Russian annexation of Crimea, and was in many respects a game changer for NATO. The Warsaw Summit was a follow-up and operationalization of the Wales Summit, as well as adding further initiatives to the agenda. But is NATO delivering?
