NEW PERSPECTIVES: A new book (ed: Karsten Friis) provides a thorough assessment of the on-going debates and discussions taking place within and outside of NATO in Europe and North America. Tom Holter (MoD), author Julie Wilhelmsen (NUPI), author Ann-Sofie Dahl and Robin Allers (IFS) discussed the issues raised in the book on a launch event on Wednesday April 26.
Is NATO delivering? On 28 April, NUPI researcher Karsten Friis launched his new book NATO and Collective Defence in the 21st Century, presenting a cutting-edge assessment of NATO's collective defence strategies in the immediate aftermath of the July 2016 NATO Warsaw Summit.

Outlook for Asia
On Thursday 27 April, NUPI had the pleasure of hosting the presentation of this year’s Asian Development Outlook. Deputy Chief Economist, Asian Development Bank Juzhong Zhuang gave an overview of Economic prospects for developing Asia and the Pacific.

Benin – NUPI MOU signed
NUPI had the honor of hosting a government delegation from Benin earlier this week. Minister of Foreign Affairs Aurélien Agbénonci of Benin and Mr. Jan-Morten Torrissen signed a MOU on capacity building and research collaboration on a number of areas, specifically issues related to peace and conflict.
Ukrainian takeaways for the West
At a seminar on Friday, Ukraine’s Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Mrs Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze shared the results of the country's ambitious internal reform agenda and explained why Ukraine’s success is important for the interests of Europe and the Euro-Atlantic community.
