What does the Islamic State's strategic communication look like?
Friday 15 December, Charlie Winter visited NUPI to hold a talk on the terrorist group Islamic State. The event was co-hosted with the Consortium for Research on Terrorism and International Crime.
His presentation was based on a longitude archive of primary source materials collected by Winter since early 2014, and Winter gave an overview on how the terrorist group is using strategic communication in its operations today. Winter also identified the organisation's messaging priorities at present and showed several examples of propaganda material made by the IS.
Chair was Senior Research Fellow at NUPI Rita Augestad Knudsen.
