The EU's response to Russia's aggression in Ukraine
The EU adopted an unprecedented set of 8 sanctions packages, which have restricted access to the EU’s territory, imposed severe financial and economic sanctions on certain sectors and have included targeted sanctions against persons and media outlets spreading misinformation.
The EU is at the same time actively promoting legal avenues, such as criminal prosecutions at the International Criminal Court and inter-State litigation before the International Court of Justice.
Professor Frank Hoffmeister, the Chief Legal Officer of the European External Action Service, will present the EU’s response to the war in Ukraine, including how international law enables and limits the EUs response.
The seminar will be in English, take place at NUPI from 10:00 to 11:30. The event will also be live streamed to NUPI’s YouTube channel. No registration is needed for digital participation.
