The Covid-19 pandemic is affecting all spheres of global society and has caused a number of negative economic effects for governments and private sectors.

While we dot not yet know the full effect of the pandemic in Africa, we know that the impacts on economies, health sectors and politics are significant – and they will continue to be substantial. In this webinar Professor Odd-Helge Fjeldstad (CMI) will present the findings from a recent study on the long-term effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on domestic resource mobilisation in Sub-Saharan African. Professor Fjeldstad will discuss the potential of various tax instruments to raise additional future revenues and examine the role of future donor support to establishing effective and legitimate regimes for domestic revenue collection in Africa.
